Network Operations Engineer

Systematic Hedge Fund

Up to £90k base + excellent bonus + potential sign-on

A reputable Systematic Hedge Fund with excellent returns is looking to hire a talented Network Operations Engineer to join a relatively new team of 3 responsible for supporting their growing network infrastructure. In this role you will be working closely with application, security and engineering teams across the firm to continuously improve platform automation and monitoring initiatives. As well as day to day support and troubleshooting, the role will also include project-based work such as new deployments, general administration tasks and upgrades.

Responsibilities:

• Becoming a key member of the infrastructure support team
• Building, administering, upgrading and supporting network infrastructure
• Contribute to monitoring and automation initiatives
• Troubleshooting networking issues including but not limited to 3rd Party Connectivity Issues, Performance, Outages, Investigating alerts
• Working with vendors to resolve issues
• Working with engineering teams to document and improve process
• Some out of hours work will be required, typically performed remotely

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of hands on experience of configuring network switches and routers
• CCNA qualified (or equivalent industry experience)
• Good understanding of network technologies and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, PIM, Multicast, NAT
• Strong problem solving, communication and analytical skills
• Familiarity with Linux systems
• Some automation (ie Ansible, Python, Git)
• Experience with firewall platforms (ie Fortinet) would be advantageous
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Corvil would be advantageous
