A Systematic Hedge Fund is looking for a Windows and Virtualisation/Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. With significant growth in the last 5 years, this firm is now horizontally scaling out into new asset classes. This brings new technological challenges for the platform and Infrastructure Team.
The right Systems Engineer for this role will be highly automation-focussed, with extensive experience in a Windows-based role and automation technology such as Powershell in order to rapidly deliver to the business and overcome challenges. Experience with Azure and VMWare are also highly necessary. This is a team lead position and will involve the management of 3 people, the perfect opportunity to take ownership and impact the technological expansion of the firm.
The Role:
- Manage the global Windows and Office 365 estate
- Key resource for architecting the Windows environment, ensuring high levels of availability
- Manage our globally distributed backup infrastructure using Veeam
- Evangelise automation across the Infrastructure team
- Manage our global VMware ESX estate
Tech Requirements:
- Strong experience across the Windows stack
- AD design, Exchange, Office 365, GPOs, DFS, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Expert knowledge with PowerShell scripting is essential
- Experience in managing VMWare ESX clusters
- Experience with CI/CD tools including:
- Source control tools
- Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Deployment tools – Terraform
- Desirable: Veeam for backup; Terraform for deployment
