We’re working with a premier global investment firm with more than 85 years of history. They’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer for their innovation lab’s AI Engineering team. You’ll design, build and harden AI systems that are used across the firm, not prototypes that stay on the shelf.

The role

The team works on a Build-Operate-Transfer model. You’ll incubate new AI products, make them production ready, then hand proven solutions to business aligned teams to scale. This is a senior, hands-on role with real ownership.

• Design, build and deploy production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems on cloud-native architecture
• Own significant areas of delivery across the software lifecycle
• Contribute to shared AI capabilities: agent orchestration, tool use, retrieval-based systems, evaluation, observability and guardrails
• Work directly with product owners and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous problems into measurable outcomes
• Champion strong engineering practices through code and design reviews, automated testing and CI/CD
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in Python, Java or JavaScript
• Strong cloud-native experience with AWS (or equivalent) and containerised microservices
• Experience building AI-enabled or agentic systems in production or near-production environments
• Familiarity with modern AI engineering patterns such as orchestration, RAG, evals, monitoring and guardrails
• Strong system design skills, and experience building APIs, data models and service interfaces
• The ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to technical and business audiences
• A BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to have: experience building shared platform components, or knowledge of financial markets and asset management.
