Senior OMS Developer –  6-9 month Contract – Hedge Fund

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Order Management System (OMS) Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and enhancing our Order Management Systems, ensuring optimal functionality and performance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience building in-house OMS solutions or working with vendor OMS systems, with expertise in C# or Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design OMS solutions, and implement software enhancements.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain Order Management Systems, focusing on robustness, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop integrations with various trading platforms, exchanges, and data providers.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability of OMS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, provide timely support, and implement effective solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in OMS development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a significant focus on building and enhancing Order Management Systems.
  • Expertise in either C# or Java is essential, with a willingness to take a C# proficiency test if coming from a Java background.
  • Specific experience with in-house OMS development is preferred, but candidates with strong experience in vendor OMS systems (e.g., Charles River) will also be considered.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects within deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing high-quality code.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
