– Automation of real-time and batch jobs.
– Supporting dev team with industry standard development and testing tools.

A London based hedge fund with over $7bn in AUM is searching for a network automation engineer to join a small but efficient network and security team. You’ll be responsible for automating, designing, implementing and maintaining the funds network infrastructure used for 24 hour a day systematic trading activities.
The infrastructure team offers ample opportunity for career development with team members gaining hands-on experience to various technologies in a squad of collaborative engineers, a far cry from the siloed and bureaucratic nature of traditional banking.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement network systems, including firewall configurations, VPN setup, and Security Protocols.
- Provide support for Network and Automation operations
- Identify potential issues and automate workflow to improve user efficiency
- Implement IaC best practices to improve the firm’s network systems with a security first mindset
- Work closely with DevOps teams on infrastructure automation
- Keep up to date with the latest network and security trends to continually improve the posture of their systems
- improve monitoring systems to pre-empt and detect failure and provide alerting to the organisation
- Monitor/analyse security logs to detect threats and vulnerabilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end network infrastructure, from data centre cabling to the network architecture.
Required skills/experience
- 5+ years of experience in network and information security
- Good knowledge of routing and security protocols
- Familiarity with next generation firewalls, VPN setup, and best practice encryption configuration
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Competent Python Scripting abilities
- Experience with CI/CD and Source control tools (Git)
- Competency with Ansible / Terraform
- Experience with Prometheus, Alert Manager, Grafana
- Experience with Cloud Routing (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Based out of a newly renovated office in the heart of Glasgow and situated within a new and dynamic platform team our client is looking for a DevOps engineer with a keen interest in managing, maintaining and enhancing distributed systems.
You’ll be responsible for for both the maintenance and build out of new AWS capabilities for the infrastructure behind a critical risk platform, which serves as the foundation for the software and services utilised by front-office and middle-office departments across the funds offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, Geneva and Dubai.
The Role
- Enhance the service orchestration process to ensure its efficiency
- Devise and develop new monitoring tools for the platform to improve its performance
- Take ownership of the CI tooling for the firm’s software to ensure its stability
- Collaborate with other dev teams to consult on best practices for structuring and deploying services
- Build efficient tools and processes to help the team deploy software more safely and effectively
Essential Skills
- 3+ years in a DevOps Engineer or SRE.

- Some level of scripting experience in either Python, Bash or Powershell.
- Passion for building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and performant services.
